
Regulations of admission and coming to Taiwan
1. School start date
Academy of Preparatory Programs for Overseas Chinese Students of National Taiwan Normal University will start around September, please refer to the dates specified in the admission notices of each school for details. Students who have been distributed are required to arrive in Taiwan before the start of the semester and present the notice of distribution to complete the admission formalities.
2. Cancellation or retention of admission qualifications
Those who have been approved for distribution but are unable to come to Taiwan for enrollment must send the original notification of distribution to the Overseas Community Affairs Council for cancellation. If you wish to retain your enrollment status, you should apply for retention of your enrollment status to the admitted school in accordance with the dates and conditions stipulated by the school to which you have been assigned.
3. Come to Taiwan for residence
Holders of foreign passports
With the notification of distribution, admission permit, and a certificate of passing the health examination issued by a qualified hospital designated by the Department of Health, Executive Yuan, within the last 3 months (please refer to the Department of Disease Control, Department of Health, Executive Yuan, for details of the examination items), the applicant can apply for a residence permit to come to Taiwan from our embassy abroad. Within 30 days after entering Taiwan, you may apply for an alien residence permit through the "Online Application System for Foreign and Expatriate Students". For those who do not have a foreign hospital recognized by the Department of Health, Executive Yuan, they may contact our embassy or consulate abroad and apply for a residence permit in accordance with local visa regulations.
Apply for a residence permit
Those who have no household registration in Taiwan should prepare the following documents in their place of residence: Apply to our overseas offices for approval to transfer to the Department of Immigration and Emigration of the Ministry of the Interior (hereinafter referred to as "the Immigration Department") for the issuance of a single entry permit and a copy of the Taiwan Residence Permit, and then, within three months from the day following the date of entry, apply to the Immigration Department with the copy of the Residence Permit to exchange it for a Taiwan Residence Permit. Those who have already entered or stayed in Taiwan may apply to the Immigration Department for a Taiwan Residence Permit with all of the above mentioned documents and entry permits.
- Application form (1 photo to be submitted, according to ID card specifications)
- Proof of identity at the place of residence or place of residence
- Our passport or other document that fully proves our nationality
- Certificate of police record at the place of residence or place of residence (exempt for minors, not yet issued or not issued in their place of residence)
- Health examination certificate issued by a hospital designated by the central health authority (valid within the last 3 months)
- Distribution of notices and other relevant supporting documents.
Those who enter Taiwan with a copy of their Chinese passport or entry permit
Within 30 days after entering the country, the applicant shall register with the household administration office of the original household registration or current residence with a copy of the Chinese passport or entry permit stamped by the airport for immigration inspection. (No separate residence permit is required).
4. Studying at Academy of Preparatory Programs for Overseas Chinese Students of National Taiwan Normal University
After enrollment, if you feel that your Chinese level is not good, you can apply for admission to a special tutoring class for one year and then advance to the preparatory class.
5. Overseas Chinese students shall be subject to the provisions of the Law on Universal Health Insurance
After six months of residence in Taiwan, they should participate in national health insurance and pay NT$826 per month. However, six months before arriving in Taiwan, according to the provisions of the Overseas Compatriot Students Injury and Illness Medical Insurance Measures, they should participate in the Overseas Compatriot Students Injury and Illness Medical Insurance, and if the Overseas Compatriot Students insurance is suspended for any reason, it shall be handled in accordance with the regulations.
